I’m not a professional photographer but I enjoy taking pictures, and every once in a while I shoot something that I think turned out a little better than average. So here are a few of my favorite photos, some taken with my Nikon DSLR, and some with my iPhone. I’d be interested in your feedback and suggestions, and thanks for looking.

The Beethoven Monument in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

Princeton harbor at sunset. This is one of the reasons why I like living in Northern California.
I took this photo while walking around my neighborhood. I was attracted by the burst of color against the cobblestones.

This is a photo of Wonder Lake in Denali National Park, Alaska. It was taken just as the sun was setting, about 11:30 PM. The striking glow coming off the mountain range onto the lake is called Alpenglow.
A classic Southwestern sunset silhouettes a giant Saguaro cactus In Arizona, near where I grew up.
This is the famed Gaudi House in Barcelona, photographed at night.
This is a wooden sidewalk with railings casting their shadows in Jerome, Arizona, a famed ghost town.
I took this photo in Red Square, Moscow, during my business trip to the USSR in 1989. The statue is right outside St. Basil’s cathedral.
These brooding mountains, home to many a legend, are located outside of Phoenix, Arizona in what used to be untouched desert. Unfortunately, that area is now sub-divided and blighted by civilization.
I took this photo of a merchant at the famed floating market near Bangkok, Thailand.
This photo was taken at a park overlooking Land’s End in San Francisco. It’s almost a naturally colorless photo.
While walking through a warehouse area in San Francisco, I noticed the reflections of a corrugated metal building off some silvered windows across the street. It reminded me of a Japanese print so I took the photo.

Canadian Rockies
One of many scenic lakes to be found while hiking in Banff National Park.
Lake Louise is a place of spiritual beauty. I just happened to take this photo of an unknown person exalting along the shoreline.
There are so many great photo ops along the shores of Lake Louise. Here’s one that I took advantage of.
